Asia Plus Pre-Qualifer (AMK) Report

Entered with Vishal and Johann.
Team Chieflion:
Leader: Johann (Nordic Dark World)
Member A: Vishal (Whirlwind BF)
Member B: Me (Agent Angel)
I have no idea what are the team names of all of my opponents, so i'll just write down the members instead :D
Round 1:
Kenneth (Infernity) VS Johann - (Win)
Yi Jie (Agent Angel) VS Vishal - (Lose)
Soon Hai (Machina Gadget) VS Me - (Win)
Personal score: XOO
Game 1: Lost to Hope + Gadget spam
Game 2: Trap Dustshoot + Pulling the Rug allowed me to counter his stuff
Game 3: Seven Tools + MST gave me the chance to do my combos.
Round 2:
Wee Min (DW) VS Johann - (Win)
Wesley (Junk Doppel) VS Vishal - (Discontinued)
Poh Seng (Gravekeepers) VS Me - (Win)
Personal Score: OO
Game 1: Had some debates over a ruling, with the judge passing the wrong judgment (I don't blame him, since it was kind of confusing), leaving me guilty for the whole game. Regardless, manage to beat down with Venus + stuff.
Game 2: Stalled awhile since he set 5 first turn. Summoned Christia and Heavy Storm'ed, revealing all useless spells. Venus beat him down after that.
Finals:
Potato (Lightlords) VS Johann - (Win)
Guan Ji (Machina Gadget) VS Vishal - (Lose)
Cassandra (WWBF) VS Me - (Win)
Personal Score: OO
Game 1: MVP is really Tragoedia. Controlled the game with it being so huge. She made Scrap Dragon to clear my Tragoedia, but i had another in my hand. I discarded Christia to take Scrap Dragon next turn for game.
Game 2: Early Christia controlled the game, even though she had Light Imprisoning Mirror. Think she made a mistake not clearing my Christia and i top-deck Earth to kill her next turn.
Results : 1st!
And so, we got into Top 8 for Asia Plus :D
Hope we can win all the way to Taiwan!!

Tourney Report @ Jcube (8/10/11)

Deck used: T.G Agents
Format: Swiss of 4 Rounds. Cut to Top 8.
Round 1: VS Jeff (Hero Beat)
OXO
Game 1: Top-decked Hyperion gave me the win.
Game 2: Karma for top-decking Hyperion = Giving me 3 Hyperions with no Earth/Venus
Game 3: Steady beatdown with stuff and Smashing Ground clearing his Raioh.
Round 2: VS Yew Loong (Gravekeeper Light Undead)
OXO
Game 1: He took my Gantetsu with Creature Swap, but i still won with Hyperion and TG's
Game 2: Remember a Goku En blowing up in my face for game.
Game 3: Leeching the Light on my field of Venus + 3 Shine Ball beatdown.
Round 3: VS Ball-Snow (Agent Angel)
XOX
Game 1: An early Trishula gave him the advantage, with multiple Warnings to kill me off.
Game 2: Forgot how i won.
Game 3: Managed to clear his field of Black Rose + Christia with Shine Ball + Leeching the Light + Smashing Ground, but he suicided his Orange Light into my ball to get 4 angels in the grave again.
Round 4: VS Shifu (Junk Doppel)
XX
Game 1: Both of us stalled awhile. Made a misplay with Mind Crush and lost to BLS + Sorc
Game 2: Debunk-ed his Sangan but still lost to BLS.
Standing: 2-2 (9th)
Suits me right for playing some random side deck (Debunk, Smashing Ground, etc). Didn't have the time to fully make a proper side. First time playing this deck without any play testing and it felt great!
Still cannot decided which is better : Agent Angel or T.G Agent, since once Christia is dropped, it pretty hard for me to win unless i got Creature Swap or Dark Hole. Guess today wasn't my day, as usual...
Hope to get more results from my new deck :D

Testing so far
Just a short update on my progress into the start of the new format.
Basically, i scrubbed on Tuesday. Deck was giving me a really hard time with all the boss monsters clogged in hand (1 BLS, 1 DAD, 2 Grapha).
Looks like its back to the drawing board for me. Next tournament should be the final SG Showdown Qualifier this Sunday. The ban list used would still be the March one, so everyone should still be familiar with all the stuff which will happen there.
I'll post up the deck list once i finalize it and get some results. Until then, its testing, testing and more testing.

Start of the new format
Today is the first local tournament which will be using the September 1st banlist.
Sad to say that I wasn't able to make it there today. However, this first week of locals would be a good way to look at how people will cope with the new format and look at the deck choices and techs people would be taking up. What's so good about the start of the new format is that there is no massive net-decking yet (unless you're net-decking from Shriek). Thus, this allows a short-lived period whereby people can make use of creativity and predicting what the meta would be.
I myself will head down to a local tournament tomorrow to test new my new Dark World deck for the September format. Hope that the main deck choices plus the side deck techs will be able to give me some results and a good head start in the new format!
Watch out for a tournament report tomorrow!

Update before Exams
Making a short post.
Gonna MIA for the next week due to examinations, not that I have been updating this blog faithfully. Most probably no tournament reports unless i find some extra time to get down to a local tournament nearby.
Btw, Won 1st at Asia Qualifier Ranking Tournament today. Used Dark World again. Hope it will bring me some results at the end of this format and the start of next format.
